Building a Brand Identity From Scratch: The JustNeeda Way
Why brand sprints beat brand marathons
Traditional branding agencies take 8–12 weeks. We take 10 days. Not because we cut corners — because we cut meetings. The typical brand project is 20% design work and 80% scheduling, presentations, revisions, and 'alignment sessions.' We compress the feedback loops.
Day 1–2: Discovery. Day 3–5: Three directions. Day 6–8: Refinement of the chosen direction. Day 9–10: Final assets and guidelines delivered. Done.
The discovery phase
We send a brand brief questionnaire before we start. It covers your audience, your competitors, your tone of voice preferences, and — critically — examples of brands you admire and brands you want to avoid. This takes 30 minutes of your time and saves us 3 weeks of back-and-forth.
We then do our own competitive research: visual audit of your top 5 competitors, analysis of their positioning, and identification of the visual white space you can own.
Three directions, not one
We always present three distinct directions. Not three variations of the same idea — three genuinely different approaches. One might be bold and typographic. Another might be minimal and symbol-driven. The third might be illustrative and warm. Each comes with a mood board, logo draft, and color palette.
You pick one. We refine it. This process is faster and produces better results than iterating on a single concept, because it forces clarity about what you actually want.
What you get
Every brand identity project includes:
- Primary and secondary logo versions (horizontal, stacked, icon-only)
- Color palette with exact codes (HEX, RGB, CMYK, Pantone)
- Typography selections (primary + secondary fonts, with web alternatives)
- Brand guidelines document (usage rules, spacing, dos and don'ts)
- Social media templates (profile, cover, post formats)
- Business card design (print-ready files)
After the sprint
The brand identity is yours. All source files, all fonts, all assets. No licensing fees, no ongoing costs for the brand itself. If you need us for implementation (website, marketing materials, signage), we're here. But the brand stands on its own.
